At the foot of Star Hill, where Rochester begins to loosen and Chatham Intra quietly takes shape, Kaboodles sits just beyond the familiar rhythm of the High Street.

From the outside, it’s easy to pass without fully noticing. Traffic moves quickly through the junction, and attention is often pulled elsewhere. But pause for a moment and the shop begins to reveal itself. The signage carries a slightly older feel, and through the windows, objects gather in a way that suggests something more than a single-purpose space.

Inside, the atmosphere shifts immediately. The room opens out further than expected, unfolding into a series of sections that extend deeper into the building. Cabinets, tables and shelves are filled with a wide range of items. Glassware, postcards, silver pieces, small ornaments and the occasional unexpected find sit side by side.

Kaboodles operates as an antiques emporium, with space rented out to over twenty independent traders. Each area reflects a different approach, creating a sense of variety that rewards slower browsing. Some displays are carefully arranged, others feel more instinctive, as though objects have found their place over time.

There is no single route through the shop. Instead, movement happens gradually, guided by whatever catches your eye. It’s the kind of place where you arrive without a clear intention and leave having spent longer than expected.
